DEPARTMENT: KROC & CORPS COMMUNITY CENTERS - PROGRAMS

POSITION TITLE: Kroc and Community Centers Software Applications Manager

STATUS: EXEMPT - Full-Time

PAY RANGE: $70,000 - $80,000

NOTE: This position is approved/budgeted for up to two years in duration to assist in the implantation of new software rollout. This will not alter the at-will employment relationship between the employee and The Salvation Army.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, information systems or equivalent work experience



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:



  • Solid understanding of the various applications that make up the Point-of-Sale software.
  • Thorough knowledge of Salvation Army Community Center operations, business processes and policies preferred.
  • Superior communication skills, both in person and via technology such as email, chat, and web.
  • Ability to synthesize information and knowledge to establish where issues and inefficiencies exist, then propose and execute solutions.
  • Familiarity with accrual basis accounting and understanding of deferred revenue.
  • Ability to read, analyze and write technical manuals and reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from large and/or diverse groups.
  • Ability and desire to continuously learn, including but not limited to understanding new technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office.



SOFTWARE-RELATED SKILLS:



  • Experience with PCs and networking, database management, data reporting, data transfer, system backup, etc.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows network navigation desirable


  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Outlook, Teams



Preferred but Not Required Skills:



  • Two years of experience in community center operations preferred
  • Two years of work experience with accounting or finance preferred
  • Two years administrative experience using Point-of-Sale (POS) software preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBI


  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Experience with Portfolio, Blackbaud CRM, or similar CRM solutions


  • Experience with Snowflake or similar Data Warehouses
  • Experience with Symphony, Zesty, or other website platforms
  • Experience using website editing tools such as WYSIWYG editors and a basic understanding of HTML


  • Familiar with Microsoft SQL Databases



SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Kroc and Community Centers Software Applications Manager supports Kroc, Corps, and Red Shield Community Centers across the Territory in the use and implementation of systems to help manage operations. The role serves as the subject matter expert for the Territorial Kroc Point-of-Sale management software, while providing support for other software solutions utilized by the Kroc department, including but not limited to website content management software.

This position requires a person that leads through service to the field, building trust that results in a positive working relationship between Territorial (THQ) and Divisional (DHQ) leadership, as well as and the local unit. Equally important the ability to analyze and solve problems. Lastly, a qualified candidate needs to be disciplined and self-managed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Software Setup and Configuration:



  • Assist the Territorial Kroc and Community Center System Solutions Director and Marketing Director with configuring various application software to meet the defined needs of our Community Centers.
  • Liaise with Divisional Headquarters in the setting up of the necessary accounting requirements for the software.
  • Work with the community centers in design and purchase of membership and other identification supplies and materials.


Training:



  • Provide in-person and web-based training for point-of-sale software and assist with training for other Kroc-related software.
  • Prepare training and documentation materials on the use of the software.
  • Assist the THQ Kroc department with communications regarding specific changes to the various software solutions when updates are implemented and provide training as appropriate.


Systems Support:



  • Field questions about the use of Kroc related software programs.
  • Serve as the point of contact and subject matter expert (SME) for any problems or issues in regard to POS suite and other Territorial Kroc approved software systems.
  • Troubleshoot problems to determine cause and solution.
  • Escalate issues when necessary to appropriate staff and/or application providers.
  • Help field units find solutions to their business needs through the use of the software.


Kroc Software Development:



  • As directed by the Kroc and Community Center Systems Director, oversee and manage the development and rollout of Kroc related software.
  • Evaluate requests submitted by the field about the functionality of Kroc software, and make recommendations as to features, functions and improvements to management for consideration.
  • Test software changes and updates before they are released to the field.


General:



  • Assist with general department 'housekeeping' as required.
  • Assist with coordination of department events.
  • When required, attend and present Territorial Kroc software materials at Territorial and National community center meetings and conferences.


Occasional travel will be required in order to complete these duties.
